The English Concert’s 30 January 2025 performance at Wigmore Hall, featuring Founding Director Trevor Pinnock, soprano Lucy Crowe, and oboist Clara Espinosa Encinas, will be recorded by the BBC for broadcast in their Radio 3 in Concert slot on Wednesday 12 February at 7:30pm.
The concert programme is inspired by the impact of Corelli’s concerti grossi, an early ‘box office hit’ in Handel’s London. We witness how Handel then ran with the Corelli model, importing other Italian influences to Georgian Britain.
