In February 2026, TEC principal guest director, Kristian Bezuidenhout, presents a new interpretation of J. S. Bach’s masterful concertos.
The concertos were brought together in 1721. The title page notes that they are composed simply for “several instruments,” however, as the noted Bach scholar Christoph Wolff wrote, “the modest title does not begin to suggest the degree of innovation exhibited in the daring combinations as Bach once again enters uncharted territory.”
Two of the Brandenburg concertos will be performed at this special London concert, presented as part of London Handel Festival. TEC will be joined by leading vocalists, Hilary Cronin, Hugo Hymas and Matthew Brook, for a programme that intersperses the concertos with three of Handel’s Chandos anthems; another wonderful suite named for its patron.
