Why Donate?

Curiosity, exploration and ambition have shaped The English Concert from its founding in 1972 to the work the orchestra does now, with Harry Bicket, around Handel’s operas and oratorios. The orchestra plays from Carnegie Hall to the Incheon Arts Centre, returns each year to Garsington Opera and major festivals around the world, and through Handel for All it is producing performance films of every piece Handel wrote, making them available to audiences who might not otherwise find them. That trademark dynamism, on stage and on camera, is nurtured by people like you.

The support we receive from individual donors is the backbone of all we do. It is our friends, patrons, and benefactors who allow the musicians to programme rich, often surprising repertoire; who allow star performers and new emerging artists to perform with us; and who keep the Handel for All cameras rolling so that our work can endure for generations.

By giving to The English Concert, you are choosing to keep the orchestra’s music echoing for many years to come.

“Your encouragement reminds us that what we do is still significant in people’s lives” – Joe Crouch, principal cello

Handel for All

Recording and filming Handel’s complete works, free to watch for anyone, wherever and whoever they are. This is our legacy for future music lovers and those who don’t know they’re music lovers yet. Handel for All would not be possible without the generous support of individual donors and foundations.

Friends & Patrons

Our community of philanthropists provide a backbone to our work, helping us to plan concerts with confidence. We have Friends, and a four-tier Patronage scheme, bringing you closer to the music.

Corporate & Trusts

Trusts, foundations, and businesses play a vital supporting role in our work, making concerts, tours and recordings possible. We welcome enquiries from organisations interested supporting our work.

Remember us in your will

The music we play is older than any of us and will outlive us all. A bequest to The English Concert keeps it living, and we are always happy to have a no-expectations conversation whenever you are ready.
