Please note: It is with regret that we announce that this performance has been cancelled due to the current Covid 19 situation. The City of Hamburg has cancelled all cultural events from 13 March to 30 April. However, the good news is we will be making a recording of Rodelinda in the Spring and invite you to support this project.
Lucy Crowe and Iestyn Davies are the devoted partners Rodelinda and Bertarido, heading a cast packed with exactly the sort of vocal star-power that Handel would have expected.
Separated by war from her defeated husband, Queen Rodelinda languishes in captivity – plotting a fearful revenge. Handel’s 1725 hit opera was written for the greatest voices of its day and it is performed here by some of today’s finest, as Harry Bicket and The English Concert’s acclaimed cycle of Handel operas continues.
