Following from our recording of Handel’s Rodelinda in September, we are announcing an ambitious plan to record the next instalment of our Handel opera cycle Tamerlano. We have a sensational cast including Bejun Mehta, Sophie Bevan and Michael Spyres, set to dazzle like the superstar singers Handel wrote it for. Our musicians have suffered enormous losses during the pandemic.

Although our tour of Rodelinda had to be cancelled, we are planning to record Rodelinda this Autumn. If you would like to donate to our recording fund you can do so through The English Concert website using the donation form on this page.

Thanks to the enormous generosity of our friends around the globe, we surpassed our goal and raised a whopping £35,000.

With just five days to go the Big Give Christmas challenge is almost upon us. This year we are seeking to raise £25,000 to bring our latest collaboration with Tom Morris and the Bristol Old Vic, a dramatic staging of Handel’s Messiah, to audiences across London and the UK.
