Fresh from our month-long tour of the USA and Europe, reviews of Ariodante - our latest installment in our series of Handel operas-in-concert for New York's Carnegie Hall - have been flooding in.

Following Radamisto, Theodora, Alcina, Hercules and Orlando in previous years, the prospects of Ariodante and the all-star cast of Joyce DiDonato, Alice Coote, Sonia Prina, Christiane Karg, Mary Bevan, David Portillo, Matthew Brook, Tyson Miller and Bradley Smith were enough to send tickets flying out of the door.

2017/18 season sneak preview

Before the full line-up is announced later this year, take a peek at some of the treats we have in store for the forth-coming 2017/18 season!

Featuring new partnerships and favourite collaborators, the 2017/18 season is one to really look forward to, including the likes of Andreas Scholl, Iestyn Davies and Kristian Bezuidenhout in venues across the globe.

Our drive forwards in the operatic world also continues apace next season with a return to the Buxton International Festival, and, of course, the next installment of our flourishing commission from New York's Carnegie Hall to present Handel operas-in-concert.

Tamerlano Highlights

Returning to the Buxton Festival for a second residency, the orchestra opened their 2016/17 with a fully-staged production of Handel's pschological thriller Tamerlano. Captured by his mortal enemy Tamerlano, Bajazet and his daughter Asteria are imprisoned. Facing forced marrage and dishonour, Bajazet and Asteria are brought to the brink of destruction.
