Shakespeare in Love - East Asia Tour

To mark the 400th anniversary of the death of England’s greatest playwright, The English Concert, led by Artistic Director Harry Bicket, embark on their second tour to China. Exploring the Bard's influence over key English baroque composers, British vocalists Mary Bevan and Tim Mead add a romantic twist with. joining the orchestra for arias and love duets from baroque operas based on Shakespeare’s plays, such as Purcell’s The Fairy Queen (adapted from A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Handel’s Giulio Cesare.

Visiting the great cities of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Wuhan and Beijing, The English Concert is sponsored by Dream & Crystal Cruises and the British Council.
